Workout Wednesday

As we approach the colder months sleeping often sounds a lot more appealing than working out! Here are a few tips to get you up and going for your workout.

1. Set more than 1 alarm….Say what? Yes you read that right…I have 3 alarms set…because I usually snooze the first 2 and keep sleeping.

2. Don’t sleep with your phone (aka alarm clock for most of us) next to you.  Put it somewhere that will make you get out of bed.  Getting out of bed to shut off those 3 annoying alarms will wake you right up!

3. Plan ahead. What do I mean?  Leave your workout clothes ready, including socks and sneakers on your side table or in the bathroom.  You don’t want to have to scramble to find your stuff so early in the morning. I sleep walk to the bathroom to get changed and brush my teeth!

4. Eat something small before starting.  (This is optional) I used to work out on an empty stomach and realized I still felt a little sluggish, sometimes a little dizzy.  Now I eat a banana (take some E&E-for added energy) and I feel better when I start and finish.

5. Give it your all.  I know it sounds obvious, but sometimes we find ourselves just going through the motions to get through a workout. If you are getting up early, make it worth it.  Act 20% stronger than you feel.  It’s often your mind that holds you back.

Hope these suggestions  were helpful.  I’d love to hear your tips and trick on getting yourself ready to workout, make sure to comment down below and share.
